Arsene Wenger came under fire for playing Alexis Sanchez when he was still bandaged up against Manchester United but now the boss claims that the forward is fully healed.

Following the 1-1 draw at Old Trafford, Wenger admitted that the Chilean was in fact still carrying a hamstring injury he sustained while on international duty.

It was a risky move. Although Alexis is one of our strongest players, if he’d injured himself further, Arsenal’s season could have taken an irreparable knock.

“It’s very unusual [for me to use an injured player],” Wenger said following the United game.

“But I did it because Sanchez is a guy who can take people on.”

Fortunately, Wenger claims that Alexis is now fully healed and that he would never force a player to set foot on the pitch if he wasn’t able to.

To be fair, I can believe that Alexis probably forced the issue. He’s a 27-year-old man and if he could play for Uruguay, you can understand that he’d want to play in one of the biggest fixtures of our season.

Still, I wouldn’t be completely adverse to Wenger resting him against PSG, especially as we’ve already qualified for the knock-out round.

The boss claims he doesn’t know whether he’ll rotate and finally give Oli a start or not.
