Arsene Wenger has admitted that although he’s given up on setting an exact return date for Santi Cazorla, he expects the midfielder to return to training in two weeks.

The Spaniard received a kick during Arsenal’s 6-0 win against Ludogorets at the Emirates and has since struggled with inflammation of his Achilles. One day he seems to be returning to training, the next he’s had a setback.

As it stands, Wenger says that Santi’s still not in training but his ‘gut’ tells him it’s not serious or career-threatening and he could return in two weeks. Although, of course, after that he needs another few weeks to return to match fitness.

The boss also admitted that he doesn’t know whether he’ll give Olivier Giroud a start against PSG, despite Alexis Sanchez only just returning to fitness after his low-grade muscle injury.

Meanwhile, Lucas is ahead of schedule and although Theo Walcott and Aaron Ramsey didn’t train ahead of the Champions League clash, they’re both be fine to play.
