Wojciech Szczesny reckons that loan club Roma have a good chance of catching up with Juventus this season.

The Serie A table is pretty tight at the moment with Juve just four points above Roma at the top. Our on loan goalkeeper therefore believes there’s everything to play for and every reason why they could catch up.

“Juve can be reached, and that’s what we want to do,” he said.

“We are not here to fight for the second place. We want to win the competition, whether it be the league or Europe. We want to win the Scudetto. We believe we can do it: Juve, of course, are favored, but we will not surrender and we will give you a hard time.”

Woj’s winning mentality is important and something we’ll need when he comes back. He won’t be first choice at Arsenal since we have Petr Cech and therefore we need a goalkeeper who’s going to fight for a place in the starting XI and give Arsene Wenger a headache with team selection every week.

Woj has taken to life in Italy like a duck to water and in just the season-and-a-bit he’s been there has featured 55 times in all competitions, which has sparked reports that he could be leaving Arsenal permanently. However, after loan spells it appears that the 26-year-old will be returning to north London.
