Roma have confirmed that Wojciech Szczesny will return to Arsenal at the end of the season after his loan spell is over.

According to Italian reports, the goalkeeper won’t be staying at Roma permanently as they’re not willing to meet the £14m Arsenal are asking for.

They have a perfectly good shot-stopper in Lukasz Skorupski, who is currently on loan with FC Empoli and has kept five clean sheets in 10 Serie A appearances so far this season.

Napoli have been linked with Woj by Calciomercato since it’s been announced that he won’t be at Roma next season. However, despite only being with Roma for two seasons, he knows very well how passionate the fans are and I don’t think he’d jump ship to a rival. Not yet at least.

It would be brilliant to have Woj back at Arsenal. As much as David Ospina has made some good saves in the Champions League, he’s far from the standard of our Polish goalie.
