Yaya Sanogo has not been seen or heard from since the end of April, but he’s alive and in France – or at least he was.

Spending last season on loan with Ajax (a disaster) and then Charlton, the forward is not even listed as injured on Arsenal.com which is generally a sign that a player is carrying a serious problem that the club don’t want to draw attention to.

In fact, the last problem that was officially reported was in December, 2015, when he was ‘ill’ (and still at Ajax).

Since arriving at Arsenal just over three years ago, he has made 21 Premier League appearances which was a lot more than I was expecting when I went to check his stats.

He had no sooner signed for the Gunners when he picked up a back injury that ruled him out for 158 days or, if you prefer, 32 games. A hamstring problem followed that kept him out for 107/19.

His problems didn’t stop when he went on loan either.

Although he was problem-free while with Palace, his groin meant he missed 58 days and 13 games with Ajax before they sent him back.

When Arsene opted to take a chance on a player who seems to have more talent than leg control, it looked like one worth taking especially given he was free.

Out of contract in the summer, it’s likely that his time at the club is over…..wherever he is.
