Alexandre Lacazette, who was heavily linked with a move to Arsenal and West Ham during the summer transfer window, is reportedly set to sign a new, improved contract with Lyon.

If the media were to be believed earlier this year, Lacazette was already in north London having his hamstrings massaged by the Arsenal medical staff before skipping off to Nandos with the rest of the squad. However, although Lyon claimed the Gunners did make a bid of €37m, nothing substantial ever seemed to arise and the rumour floated away. Fart in the wind-style.

Lacazette was also linked with a move to West Ham, who apparently put in an offer of €57m, which they also had knocked back.

Now, it appears that the Ligue 1 club will be killing any rumours that the 25-year-old could be off again in January as, according to L’Equipe, they’re going to offer him a new, improved contract with a £62.3m release clause.

Whatever will Jean-Michel Aulas talk about now?

It was reported back in September that the Frenchman had rejected a new deal with Lyon because he realised that no one would actually ever pay that for him.

It seems he’s had a change of heart now, eh?

Lacazette has scored nine goals in seven Ligue 1 appearances so far this season.
