Another game, another goal for our big man, Olivier Giroud, up front.

The striker was given his first start since returning from injury. Alexis was pushed out left while Aaron Ramsey, who was also back from a long stint on the sidelines, was out right.

Until his goal, Olivier Giroud actually found it pretty difficult to get into the game and had little influence. But that’s the thing about Oli, he can rise up out of nowhere and grab a header when you least expect it.

Sure enough, in the 42nd minute, a beautiful cross from Aaron Ramsey came in from the right and Giroud headed it over the keeper. It was his only shot of the game and he managed to find the back of the net. Lethal.

This was his third goal in two games since he returned; his third goal in three shots as well.

What Oli proved once again against Ludogorets is that despite not seemingly giving a Man of the Match performance, he can still produe something from nothing. His goal wasn’t a stunner but it was exactly what we needed to bring us equal before the break.

Although I doubt the Frenchman will start against Spurs in the North London Derby on Sunday, it’s good to have him back. And although he may not like it, since he wants to be starting every game like any footballer should, he’s a fantastic super sub.
