Mesut Ozil will end all speculation over his future by signing a new five-year deal with the Gunners according to a report in the Mirror that came out this weekend.

The German has just under two years left on his deal and while there was some speculation in the press, it seemed just a formality that we would get him to sign up.

The deal might also be an indicator of what Arsene Wenger is planning to do, with it being suggested that Ozil was stalling until Wenger agreed to remain at the club.

The details of the deal will apparently see him earn £160,000-a-week which is some distance short of the £250k-per-week that parts of the media claimed he was DEMANDING and much more in-line with Arsenal’s pay structure.

It would represent a pay rise of around £10k per week, or, if you prefer, just over half a million pounds per year.

Absolute bargain in today’s crazy world.
