Mesut Ozil has returned from his break away in Turkey fresh and ready to face Manchester United.

The playmaker was left out of Germany’s international fixtures by coach Joachim Löw since bringing him obviously wasn’t a priority this time. The Germans are at the top of their World Cup Qualification group by five points and their match was against San Marino whom they beat 8-0.

Ozil therefore spent the break resting in Turkey and has now returned full of energy.

Arsenal travel to Old Trafford on Saturday and considering we have the likes of Alexis Sanchez potentially out and Hector Bellerin plus Santi Cazorla definitely out, it’s massive that we have a fully fit, fresh Mesut Ozil to put out there.

“I haven’t heard a lot [about Alexis’ fitness] because we were in doubt 24 hours before the game against Uruguay,” said Wenger.

“We didn’t know if he’d play or not. In the end they decided to play him. He texted us to tell us he’s in good shape after the game. He came off after 84 minutes and now we have to wait. I see him tomorrow [Friday] morning and then I will see if he can be involved in the squad or not.

“What I will consider is the risk of injury because he played while recovering from a hamstring injury. I’ll consider the way he feels as well. On that front you depend on the honesty of the player, how they feel and how they recover.”

This season, the 28-year-old has found his eye for goal having scored seven so far in all competitions but he dropped off towards the international break. Hopefully, this little holiday in the sun has made him hungry again.
