Mesut Ozil has reportedly agreed a new Arsenal deal… again.

The playmaker is out of contract in 2018 and claims that he’s put pen to paper and agreed an extension are gathering pace.

The latest reports are saying that the 28-year-old has signed a deal worth €12m a year, or €230,000 a week. He’s currently thought to be on £7.38m (around €10m) a year so that’s a £3m rise.

To be fair, I don’t think there’s a single Arsenal fan who would be against this if the reports are true. The quality that he brings to the team is priceless and we need to do everything we can to keep him. We have the advantage that he loves London but that’s not enough to keep your best players.

When you look at the world’s highest earning players, you can’t really blame him for wanting to be up there.

The German has scored seven goals in all competitions this season after struggling to score last term. He’s now turning into the complete player.

If Ozil has finally signed this new contract, great news.
