Peter Gwargis’ stock continues to rise with recent reports suggesting a lucrative move to one of Europe’s big clubs awaits the talented teenager dubbed the ‘new Mesut Ozil’.

The midfielder, who only turned 16 in September, has been attracting interest from a handful of European sides, including Arsenal, with his excellent performances in training alongside senior players for Husqvarna FF.

Gwargis, who is left-footed, has drawn comparisons to current attacking midfielder Mesut Özil according to his agent Walid Faour.

Eredivisie champions PSV Eindhoven are another of the clubs reportedly interested in Gwargis’ signature, but their rivals Feyenoord have already secured the opportunity to give the talented youngster a trial.

He has already trained with both their u17 and u19 youth sides, so it’ll be interesting to see whether he stays at Husqvarna for much longer with concrete interest being shown in his services.

Husqvarna are a third division Swedish side and Gwargis’ decision may very well lie with where he feels most comfortable in regards to his playing situation. If he travels to England for example and signs for Arsenal, it could be unsettling in the absence of his friends and family in a new country where he’d potentially also have difficulty with the language.

He usually operates in the centre of midfield or further forward just behind the striker and given his age, it’s no surprise that the club’s hierarchy have been cautious not to overwork him as he continues to develop at a rapid rate.
