AC Milan are believed to be ‘dreaming’ of signing Santi Cazorla for free this summer as they become the second Italian side linked with a move for him.

Out of contract this summer, a new one has not been offered and with his Achilles injury causing significant concern, it is not clear if Arsenal will offer him one before he can sit down with other clubs in January.

Even given his injury problems over the last two seasons, it would be a massively brave move for Arsene Wenger to let Santi go. He’s a player who is adored by fans, and with good reason – he has been the heartbeat of this team since he arrived from Malaga in 2012 and it seems unthinkable that this could be the last season we have him at the club.

Still only 31, there is plenty of life left in the Spaniard’s legs and he has said that he wants to stay at Arsenal, so what’s the hold up on Arsenal’s end?

Sure, we could point to the injury he’s currently carrying, but there was plenty of time before that when they could have offered him a new deal.

They haven’t.

That’s very worrying indeed.
