Lucas Perez claims that he could make it back on the pitch sooner than was originally predicted.

The forward, who injured his ankle ligaments against Reading in the EFL Cup, was initially due to return in mid-December. However, according to the player, he could return sooner.

Lucas was granted permission to return to former club, Deportivo, to receive treatment on his ankle during the international break.

On Thursday night, the 28-year-old shared a video of him already training on a pitch.

It’ll be great if he can return sooner rather than later. Although he was struggling for game time, right before he got injured he was building momentum and having another attacking player in the squad is always useful.

Lucas signed for Arsenal in the summer for a reported £17m and has played a total of 277 minutes in all competitions so far. In this limited time, however, he’s scored two goals and assisted three so there’s definitely potential there.
