Despite not getting a great deal of playing time for Arsenal so far this season, Lucas Perez’s agent claims that the forward is happy and not planning on going anywhere.

The former Deportivo player has only made three Premier League appearances this season. However, his failure to secure a place in the Arsenal starting XI wasn’t helped by the fact that when he did start to get more playing time, he got injured.

A tackle during our win against Reading in the EFL has left him sidelined for a few weeks and he’s not due to return for a few more. Although, his rehabilitation in Spain apparently went well.

Of course, this, as well as comments Lucas made not that long ago about not expecting this little time on the pitch, led to many thinking that the forward would already be looking for pastures new.

Although there wasn’t anything substantial actually linking him with a move away, there has been recent talk of a January loan move.

“When I first arrived here I expected to have more of a starring role,” he said in October.

“The teammates that are playing in my position are doing a great job.

“We have won seven games in a row and, at the end of the day, the coach wants what is best for the team.

“I had hoped to have more playing time, but what I have to do now is make the most of the opportunities I get.”

However, this is not the case. According to his agent:

“He’s not playing because he’s injured,” Rodrigo Fernandez Llovelle said.

“He has no plans to leave, Arsenal and [Arsene] Wenger are very happy with him.

“Inter or Napoli? Not at the moment. Now he’s just thinking about Arsenal. He was playing, but then he injured his ankle and he’s been out for a month.”

Well, that settles that then.
