Lazio striker, Ciro Immobile, has revealed that Mesut Ozil is his favourite player.

The Italy international, who’s scored a whopping nine goals (plus three assists) in 12 Serie A appearances so far this season, claims that Ozil is his favourite player despite the fact that his country is about to face Germany in a friendly.

“My favorite player is Ozil, but we have Buffon, the strongest goalkeeper in the world. He’s a myth here in Rome, still a hero, a part of the history of the club and a great for all fans of Lazio.”

It goes to show Ozil’s reach!

Our playmaker actually won’t be playing for Germany, which I’m sure Immobile is disappointed about. Manager, Joachim Low, realised that it wasn’t imperative that Ozil traveled with the national team and therefore didn’t call him up.

From an Arsenal perspective this is brilliant because one of our star players gets to come back for the Manchester United clash on 19 November fresh and fit. After being rested for a couple of weeks, he should also be hungry for playing time and I’m hoping this means he has one of the performances of his life.

He’s scored seven goals already this season, let’s get a couple more against Jose Mourinho’s Red Devils.
