According to reports, Hector Bellerin has been left out of Spain’s u21 squad to face Austria because of a recurring ankle injury.

Earlier in the week, we heard that the right-back had been left out of the squad. However, there wasn’t much information to tell us why this was.

All we had to go on was a Snapchat photo that the 21-year-old shared in which he had a severely bruised ear following the North London Derby on Sunday.

Now, it’s claimed that a recurring ankle problem, brought on after he got kicked by Spurs man, Danny Rose, at the weekend, has failed to heal itself.

Bellerin has flown back to London for further assessment.

According to the Daily Mail, a ‘source’ close to the Spain international says that it’s only minor. However, IBTimes claim that it’s more serious and that he’ll be out for closer to a month with ligament damage.

Hopefully, this isn’t the case, as Arsenal travel to Old Trafford on 19 November and we really need a fit squad.
