It seems as though former Spurs and Chelsea defender, Jason Cundy, isn’t a big fan of Mesut Ozil…

In fact, the presenter had some harsh words for our playmaker recently.

Referring to the Ludogorets game and Ozil’s very special third goal to win Arsenal all three points, Cundy launched into an unnecessary rant about the German not being world class and how he’d have Dele Alli over him ‘all day’.

“Aside from not being world class, he isn’t even the best player at his club right now as Sanchez is proving more important and I wouldn’t have him anywhere near Chelsea,” he said to Football Fanzone.

“I was asked who I would take between him and Dele Alli prior to the North London derby, give me Alli all day. At least he has a backbone and heart for the fight.”

He added, “For me Ozil epitomises Arsenal, the two were made for each other. He’s pretty on the eye but when the bullets start flying he is nowhere to be seen.

“He’s the kind of person that rocks up to a party when the cake is being cut and blows out the candles but isn’t there to help set up or to help clean up after either.”

Alright, Cundy.

For some reason, the former Spurs man has a real bee in his bonnet over the fact that Ozil is actually amazing. This isn’t even just opinion anymore, it’s basically scientific fact.

If Cundy wasn’t wound up by Ozil’s brilliance and the fact that he plays for Arsenal, then he wouldn’t sound nearly as bitter as he does.

The thing is, he’s not even tried to hide it. There’s criticism and then there’s just ranting; he’s doing the latter.
