Olivier Giroud has added to Arsene Wenger’s injury woes after it was revealed that he picked up a hamstring injury against the Cherries.

Coming on as a second half substitute, the Frenchman set up Arsenal’s third as he found Alexis Sanchez for his brace.

With Mathieu Debuchy being taken off in the first half with an injury the defender fears is ‘severe’ the news about Giroud will come as a blow to both the club and the player.

Speaking to the media after the game, Wenger said, “The only worry we have his Giroud [hamstring]. We have to see what the damage is.”

Arsenal are currently without Chuba Akpom (back) and Danny Welbeck (knee).

Theo through the middle against Southampton, anyone? Hopefully Lucas doesn’t suffer any setbacks after returning to training at the end of the week.

Arsenal are currently fourth in this season’s Injury League, fourth in the Premier League and four points ahead of Tottenham.
