Monaco defender, Djibril Sidibé, has spoken about how he turned Arsenal down… yet again.

The Frenchman signed for the Ligue 1 club in the summer and has so far made 16 appearances in all competitions, including Champions League qualifiers, and has scored a goal and assisted one in the French league.

The 24-year-old turned down the chance to come to Arsenal because he understood there was competition for places and he didn’t want to just disappear into the Premier League. However, he said that he would quite like a move one day.

Well, Djibril is back at it again. More or less saying the exact same thing for what? The third or fourth time now?

“I came from a big season with plenty of goals,” he told Foot Mercato [via le10sport].

“I had been decisive on many occasions.

“After, there was this call-up for the France team. Somehow I expected offers. It came.

“It is true that this offer (Arsenal) came at the last moment. I had already made my choice for Monaco. But it’s very flattering.

“Today, Arsenal is one of the biggest teams in the world. As I said, today I am in Monaco. I’m happy and I know it has been interpreted in a certain way. But that’s part of the trade.”

We get it Djibril. Arsenal tried to sign you and you turned us down so you could get playing time. That’s very admirable and I’m sure you’re a good full-back. However, I’m really not sure we have to keep hearing the same story over and over.
