Chris Coleman is set to start Aaron Ramsey for Wales against Serbia on Saturday.

The World Cup Qualifier could put Wales top of Group D if they beat Serbia, who currently sit first.

The last couple of games haven’t produced the best results. 1-1 against Georgia and 2-2 against Austria have left Wales lower in the table than they were predicted after their amazing Euro 2016 tournament.

Coleman seems to think this is mainly down to not having Rambo in the side after he injured his hamstring against Liverpool on the opening day of the season, and said that, despite the midfielder only just returning from Arsenal, he’s going to start him.

“We were without him for the first three games and it was a blow for us that – it would be a blow for anyone,” Coleman said.

“It was disappointing and frustrating. You have to say, without Aaron Ramsey, take him out of any team and it’s a loss. So it’s nice to have him back.

“He’s not played too much football for Arsenal, of course, but he’s going to start the game as we sit here now.

“However long he’ll last – physically we don’t know, but we do know he’s generally probably one of the fittest players playing football.”

It’s a massive risk and a selfish move from the Wales manager. Starting Ramsey before he’s fully fit and throwing him into a match they need to win could be disastrous for the player.

I know Ramsey will of course want to play but he also won’t want to get injured again.
