Santi Cazorla will be at Spain’s friendly against England at Wembley tonight (Tuesday).

Despite not receiving a call-up for almost a year, the midfielder has accepted the offer to attend the friendly matche between England and his home country at the London-based stadium.

Although the 31-year-old has been capped 79 times, he’s found it hard to get call-ups and especially difficult to get any real game time with his country. It’s a shame because he’s such an unbelievable player but competition for his position, injury problems and, now, age aren’t on his side.

He, along with Adrian San Miguel and Pedro, and the players Feliciano Lopez, Marc Lopez and Roberto Bautista have all taken Spain up on their offer.

Interestingly, according to AS, Cesc Fabregas hasn’t.

The Chelsea player, who has been capped 117 times and was once one of Spain’s key midfielders, was snubbed earlier in the season after failing to rack up proper playing time with the Blues.

The 29-year-old only made four Premier League appearances under Antonio Conte this season before sustaining a thigh problem, which appears to be the main reason he misses out this time around.

The fact that Cesc has turned down the chance to watch his country play speaks volumes.
