Hector Bellerin has told the Times [£] that he wants ‘a few years’ more at Arsenal amid rumours linking him with a move to City or Barcelona.

It is the second time this week that he has been talking about his future and while he was unequivocal about his future with the Standard, this one has me slightly concerned.

A few years is nothing, especially when you consider that he is only 21.

“I have been in London for five years and love it,” Bellerin said.

“It’s my home and I would like to be here for a few years longer. It is not an issue.”

Of course, I’m probably worrying over nothing and a player of Bellerin’s talent should be keeping the door open for his future. He doesn’t know what Arsenal will be like in a few years.

Arsene Wenger could be gone and we could be smack bang in the middle of an endless rebuild like Manchester United.

Or, we could be winning things again with regularity and those few years could turn into a whole career.

Who knows….

Bellerin will spend the international break with the Spanish u21 side.
