Reports coming from the Italian press claim that Arsenal have set their sights on Juventus target, Alexander Isak.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Juve have been scouting the AIK Solna forward for a long time but now the Gunners are also in line to capture the 17-year-old’s signature.

Tuttojuve refer to Isak as one of the ‘best youngsters in Europe’ after finding the net 10 times in 24 appearances in the Swedish league, or Allsvenskan, last term.

This season, he’s scored two goals in a single appearance in the Swedish domestic cup (Svenska Cupen).

The Swedish youth international’s contract with AIK Solna runs out in December 2018 and since he’s so highly rated, it’s not hard to imagine that he could move on to bigger and better teams soon.

Are Arsenal interested?

It’s entirely possible. He’s young and excellent at through balls and dribbling. He’s not so good at holding onto the ball but at his age this can easily be improved.

He’s also strong in the air; he’s 190cm tall and although he would initially signed as an addition to the Young Guns, having tall, strong strikers for the future could be beneficial.

However, looking at the reports, Arsenal are mentioned in the headlines and as an afterthought, it seems as if Juve really want the lad. It remains to be seen whether we’ll stand in their way.
