According to recent reports from talkSPORT, Arsenal are one of a number of top European sides tracking the progress of Inter Milan’s talented 17-year-old forward Andrea Pinamonti.

The centre forward, who doesn’t turn 18 until May next year, has started the 2016/17 campaign in rich goalscoring form for Inter’s u19 side.

With ten goals and an assist in seven league matches this term, he’s the competition’s top scorer and is unsurprisingly attracting interest from Europe’s best as he continues to develop.

His main strengths include the quality of finishing, being comfortable in possession and using spatial awareness to hold up play whilst getting other team-mates involved.

Having represented Italy at u15 level and upwards on more than 30 occasions to date, he made his debut for the u19’s side in August and featured for 20 minutes during their 1-0 Euro qualifier victory over Hungary last Thursday.

Liverpool and Manchester City are reportedly the Gunners’ main British rivals who are also eager to sign the talented teenager – but there is equally interest across Spain and Italy too. Barcelona, Villarreal and Serie A’s reigning champions, Juventus, are all monitoring the youngster’s progress and given that his contract expires in the summer of 2018, the situation could become an interesting one if he doesn’t manage to get a full promotion into the senior side.

A team packed with attackers, it’d be naive to suggest – barring an injury crisis – Pinamonti would be called upon this term, but given his ability and potential to improve further, it’d be no surprise to see him continue to flourish, which will only enhance his reputation across Europe.
