With Inter Milan reportedly making Atletico Madrid boss, Diego Simeone, their main managerial target, the links with Arsenal have reemerged.

Although Simeone was already getting linked with the Arsenal job once Arsene Wenger leaves, him reducing his contract with Atletico from 2020 to 2018 didn’t do anything to dampen them.

Wenger’s current deal in north London runs out at the end of this season, although the boss could easily extend another year, which would line up perfectly with Simeone leaving his La Liga club.

With this in mind, is it possible, even probable, that Arsenal have already decided on their next manager?

I’d find it rather concerning if our amazing club hadn’t even thought about or casually approached another manager about the job. Obviously, they have a far clearer plan for the future than we do or that they would ever let us know. However, since Wenger could theoretically leave within months, it would be pretty negligent if we haven’t lined anyone up to step in.

I’m very much of the opinion that Arsenal have chosen and probably approached Wenger’s successor. Le Professeur himself probably had a hand in the process! We may even have more than one candidate in mind.

However, at this moment in time, the only person I can see stepping in is Simeone.
