There’s been a lot of media attention on Alexis Sanchez recently.

First of all there’s his contract negotiations, which the media are saying have stalled, linking him once against with Manchester City and then there was his injury that he sustained while away training with Chile, which he’s now miraculously recovered from.

It’s not that [Alexis] hasn’t trained, he’s trained every day, even when we were in Colombia he did a different kind of work. Yesterday he took part in full training,” Pizzi said in a press conference ahead of Chile’s match against Uruguay.

“At no time have we received pressure from any club. My stance is that I will never use a player who is not fit or capable of playing. All of the clubs can remain calm, we are very respectful of our players.

“The health of our players is paramount, we will never force any player who has not got the medical all-clear.”

Alexis took to Instagram following Juan Antonio Pizzi’s request that Arsenal ‘remain calm’ after he announced that the forward would be fit to face Uruguay despite not being able to take part in the Colombia match.

In an image of him celebrating a Chile goal and tearing his shirt off, he added a pretty deep caption, which translates as:

“Be so strong that no one can hurt you, so remarkable that no one can offend you. So humble that everyone can admire you and so original that nobody can imitate you. Just be you”

Alexis is no stranger to posting deep and meaningful quotes on his social media, particularly his Instagram, so it could be a coincidence but I think not. He’s presumably saying he’s fit to face Uruguay.

Well we’ll what state he’s in when he gets back to London.
