Yassin Fortune is expected to spend up to six weeks on the sidelines after the young forward suffered a recurrence of a hip injury.
The 17-year-old arrived at the club at the same time as Jeff Reine-Adelaide but has not followed the same rapid progression. Injuries haven’t helped.
He missed all of pre-season, and the start of the campaign, with the same problem and has played just 21 minutes for the u19s in Premier League 2.
With 8 goals in 23 appearances for the u18s last season, Yassin would have been hoping to push on this, but the French teenager, who can play as a number 10, on either flank, or as a striker, will have to spend more time waiting.
Arsenal paid just over £2m for Fortune when they signed him from RC Lens in the summer of 2015.
