Former Chelsea centreback, Zech Medley, has joined Arsenal on trial.

The 16-year-old, who recently left the Blues after being at the club since the age of eight, played for the Arsenal u18s against Fulham at the weekend. However, according to Jeorge Bird, he didn’t make the best first impression considering he gave away a late penalty, allowing the visitors to bring the scoreline to 1-1.

Although it remains to be seen whether Arsenal will offer him a contract, the youth team do need defensive reinforcements and it’d be harsh to judge him too quickly on his first game.

Hopefully, the youngster gets used to his surroundings and gets another chance to impress for the u18s.

The next match is just days away on October 22nd against Reading. The Young Guns will travel to the Royals’ training ground for the Premier Academy League match.

Medley has also been capped four times for England’s under-16s.
