Reports claim that Yaya Toure has agreed to join Arsenal but his agent has already stated it would be ‘impossible’ for the Manchester City man to sign for Arsenal.

Yaya Toure seems certain to be on the move in January with his contract expiring at the end of the season and Pep Guardiola having no intention of using him but there is no way he will end up at Arsenal for a few reasons.

Now 33 and with legs made of lead, it would seem a very odd move for Arsene Wenger to make given the dynamism of the midfield options he already has at his disposal. While there is no denying Toure’s talent, he would never be more than a benchwarmer at Arsenal, which is, I suppose, more than he’s getting at the minute at City.

So what of this conflicting information about Yaya Toure?

Well, Calciomercatonews are reporting the ‘news’ about the player’s agreement to join Arsenal, citing the Express as their source [never a good sign].

They state, “As recounted by the Daily Express ‘Arsenal have decided to make a concrete offer to  Manchester City to bring to’ the Emirates the former midfielder of Barça.  Yaya has already given his approval to Arsene Wenger, [who is] ready to coach one of the most complete players in the world.”

I wasn’t able to find that specific Express piece but I did find another in which they reference Toure’s agent, linking to a Sky Sports report in which he said it would be ‘impossible’ for Yaya to move to Arsenal so I’m not entirely sure why people insist on going on about this.
