Middlesbrough only have six points this season and five of these have been picked up on the road, which is something Arsene Wenger is well aware of as they travel to Arsenal on Saturday.

The only match in which Boro have picked up anything at home was on the opening day of the season when they drew 1-1 against Stoke, who coincidentally are the only team standing between them and the relegation zone on goal difference at the moment.

Wenger believes that Boro have been a bit unlucky with some of their home results and they can be very effective away from their ground.

“If you look at the quality of their games away from home, they have done quite well,” Wenger insisted.

“At home they were a bit unlucky but away from home they have done extremely well, they play, they are not afraid to take responsibilities in their game and they are a team who is good going forward and looks like they can score goals. We will need a good defensive performance.”

As odd as it sounds, Arsenal can actually relate. For a while, we were much better on the road than at home and although we didn’t necessarily get the majority of our results away, our performances were far better.

Whether this is because of the pressure of performing in front of the home fans or something else, we may never know.

Hopefully, Arsenal can perform at home on Saturday and put an end to Boro’s away form and hopefully Calum Chambers, despite being on loan there, is secretly cheering us on from the stands.
