Arsene Wenger has reportedly met with Genort Rohr of Nigeria to discuss their use of Alex Iwobi in their game against Algeria on 12 November.

Yes, that’s right, there’s another international break on the horizon – the third of the season before it’s even three months old, but let’s blame the domestic competitions which the players are paid to compete in for them always being knackered.

Wenger met with Genort Rohr, the technical adviser for the Super Eagles, who are expected to call Iwobi up for the World Cup qualifying game.

It is not clear what was discussed but Rohr also met with John Obi Mikel, the Nigeria captain, when he was in London.

Both Arsenal and his country will be aware of the dangers of overusing a young player like Iwobi so hopefully club and country could come to an amicable agreement.

We expect to see him feature against Algeria.
