Moussa Sissoko is set to miss out on Tottenham’s trip to Arsenal on 6 November after accepting his charge of violent conduct from the FA.

The midfielder understandably came under heavy criticism following Tottenham’s 0-0 draw away to Bournemouth at the weekend. In the 79th minute, the 27-year-old elbowed Cherries’ man, Harry Arter, and since this wasn’t seen by referee Craig Pawson, the Spurs player has been slapped with a three-match retrospective ban by the FA.

Spurs boss, Mauricio Pochettino, has readily accepted the charge.

“We accept it, as a club,” he said.

“After viewing the video we accept the charge.

“After the game it was difficult. You asked me about the action and it was true it was difficult to appreciate the situation, what happened.

“It wasn’t intentional but his elbow was in Arter’s face. It’s clear. We accept the charge and now it’s to move forward with him suspended for three games.

“I believe that it wasn’t his intention what happened. Sometimes an action, during the game, happens like this. We will keep him fit in training for when he’s available again.”

The three-match ban takes Sissoko past the North London Derby, which means he’ll miss out.

Since signing from Newcastle for £30m in the summer, Sissoko has made eight appearances for our north London rivals and although he won’t be a massive miss, having any player out for three matches is a blow.

Spurs have until 6pm (UK time) today (Tuesday) to appeal the ban but this seems highly unlikely given the nature of the offense and Pochettino’s comments.

To be honest, there’s not a lot to appeal. Take a look.
