Tottenham have been handed an apparent boost ahead of their first cup final against Arsenal this season with the news that Harry Kane should make his return from an ankle injury in that game.

The 23-year-old, who will no doubt be keen to get back to standing in the box with his mouth open and letting the ball hit him, has been out of action since 18 September when he injured his knee against Sunderland.

Kane was expected to be out until around 19 November but it seems as if he could make a return to action some two weeks early when Tottenham travel to the less shadowy part of north London on 6 November.

Spurs have won all their games (4) without Kane, whereas before he was injured they had won only 50% of their matches, playing six, losing one (Monaco) and drawing two (Everton, Liverpool).

It might also be worth noting that, City aside, this Spurs side, which has had their best start to a Premier League campaign ever and are being hailed from every quarter in the media, have beaten only Crystal Palace, Stoke City, Sunderland, CSKA Moscow and Gillingham.

That hasn’t stopped their supporters proudly declaring ‘this will be our year.’

Have never heard that before, you?
