Arsenal new boy, Lucas, is not included in Arsenal’s matchday squad after the striker picked up a ‘slight’ knee injury.

The Spaniard becomes the third Arsenal forward to be ruled out through injury.

Olivier Giroud has an unspecified problem that he allegedly picked up against Chelsea while Chuba Akpom has a back injury that will keep him out for a ‘while’.

It means that Arsenal’s bench has just Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and, I guess, Jeff Reine-Adelaide, as their attacking options for the final league match before yet another international break.

Lucas previously suffered a knee injury in 2014 which ruled him out for 23 days, however it was over the summer so he did not miss any matches.

Over the course of his career, he has managed to avoid any sort of serious injury, with just three recorded, the longest of which kept him out for 50 days and six matches from 12 August, 2014 –  October 1, 2014.
