As we previously mentioned, the Arsenal Ladies squad needed trimming and it has begun with Vicky Losada, Natalia Pablos Sanchon and Marta Corredera leaving the club.

The most surprising departure is Vicky Losada who has played nearly every game this season. But considering Kim Little is coming in, there would have been a lot less opportunity for the Spanish player to get game time.

It makes sense for Corredera to leave as she has been either used as a sub or filling in for missing players at right-back, left-back, right winger or left winger.

Natalia Pablos Sanchon also didn’t see enough game time this season, especially when the team was struggling to get goals.

She has a different tactical profile from the other forwards, the same way Olivier Giroud is different from the others on the men’s side. Had she been on the pitch more, the team’s fortune might have changed.

The Spanish players have all done well for the club when it was in transition and rebuilding and were very much fan favourites.

It will be interesting to see who else will leave the club and who will come in.
