Sir Alex Ferguson has urged everyone not to forget about Arsenal in the title race.

The former Manchester United manager seemed impressed with the Gunners in an interview with Kicker recently. He also had high praise for 20-year-old Alex Iwobi.

Fergie took the opportunity to praise new-ish Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp, and claimed that the Merseyside team should now be ‘counted in’ to the title race.

He went on to say that there are five main teams that he thinks could win the title this season: Spurs, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United (heh) and, of course, Arsenal.

“I think there are five potential candidates,” he said.

“Manchester City as favourites, Tottenham and Liverpool, but also United are still there if we get some consistency soon. Even when you are trailing by six, eight points, it’s still possible to catch one or two teams.

“The rivalry and the experience of Guardiola and Mourinho makes for an exciting competition.

“And you shouldn’t forget Arsenal. The team is more sturdy. They’ve got better and more aggressive. I’m impressed with the young boy Alex Iwobi.”

Liverpool, City and Arsenal are all currently on 20 points with the Blues edging it on goal difference. Spurs and Chelsea are only a point behind.

It’s going to be a close one. Probably closer than Leicester’s landslide victory last term. No one can afford any slip-ups or they risk falling down to sixth.

No pressure, eh?
