Arsenal were able to close the gap on ‘imperial’ Manchester City to zero points (and just one goal) after Pep Guardiola’s men missed TWO penalties to draw 1-1 with Everton.

Both Kevin de Bruyne and Sergio Aguero missed from the spot. However Nolito made sure they grabbed at least a point after Romelul Lukaku scored with a lovely finish after beating Gael Clichy and finding the far corner.

City had dominated and Everton struggled to cope with their movement at times, but as Arsenal fans know all too well, it’s scores on the doors that matter and pretty football is no guarantee of a win when the final whistle goes.

Arsenal and City are now level at the top of the table on 19 points with City, the overwhelming favourites for the title, only one better when it comes to goal difference (+11 v +10).

Arsenal have now won their last six Premier League games.

No other side in the division can say that.
