Real Madrid defender, Raphaël Varane, hailed Laurent Koscielny’s contribution to France’s 1-0 win over the Netherlands on Tuesday night.

A crucial interception from Kos led to Paul Pogba’s deflected goal, which saw his country collect all three points.

Speaking after the match, his partner, Varane, praised Kos’ ability to read the game, referring to him as a ‘complete player’.

“[Kos] is a very intelligent player who reads the game well,” Varane told the French press.

“He feels good physically. He’s a complete player. This is obviously very good to have him with us. And of course he has contributed to this result. But collectively we responded and were very strong. This kind of performance that’s important for the group.”

Kos put in another superb performance for his country, which is pretty much standard now. Long gone are the days where he used to have the odd wobbly game; he’s now one of Arsenal’s most consistent players and is one of the best centrebacks in the Premier League.

Along with Shkodran Mustafi, we’ve got a pretty secure back four, which is something of a novelty.

It’s good to see our man putting in the work for his country but now it’s time to come home and prepare for our match against Swansea City at the weekend.
