Theo Walcott is a changed player but he still seems to hold the ability to frustrate, especially against defences which give him little space as Burnley did on Sunday.

Judging by how many times I said ‘ffs Theo’ on Twitter against Burnley compared to v Chelsea (well, I wasn’t on Twitter at all as I was at the game, but you know what I mean) I thought I would have a look at some of his stats to see if he really had been as ineffective against Burnley as he appeared to the naked eye.

Is Theo just a ‘big game’ player as we all assume?

As you can see from the charts above, Theo actually covered more ground, played and completed more passes and got an assist.

He created more chances than anyone else (2), only Alexis attempted and completed more take ons (3.6), won the ball back three times, made an interception (Kos only made one), and won two of his three aerial duels.

It’s amazing how much your eyes can lie to you.
