Alexis Sanchez is the second most effective player in the Premier League this season so far when it comes to scoring and creating goals, with only Chelsea Diego Costa outdoing him.

With four goals and three assists to his name this season, Alexis is certainly not showing any signs of yet another hectic summer. Playing through the middle for Arsenal, his stats are impressive with only Costa’s seven goals and two assists keeping him from top spot.

Alexis has, however, played twice as many key passes than the Chelsea man, 16 v 8.

Both have had almost the same number of shots (Alexis 23, Costa 24) but it is Costa’s shot accuracy which sees him hit the back of the net more often – 70% v 60%.

Alexis also has more successful take-ons, 22 v 14 however when it comes to the defensive side of the game, it’s sad to see Costa running away with it.

He’s made two blocks and nine clearances while Alexis has made none of either. The Arsenal man does, however, have more interceptions to his name (5 v 1) which are a result of the high press and allow Arsenal to spring back into attack while the opposition are not defensively set.
