After Chelsea destroyed Manchester United at Stamford Bridge on Sunday evening, the Chelsea players posted a picture of themselves celebrating in the dressing room.

Not one to stick up for Chelsea, they’d just beaten their former boss comprehensively and after losing to both Liverpool and Arsenal, were right to be delighted with their performance.

Every time Arsenal players post a picture of themselves celebrating in the dressing room, they come in for fierce criticism in the media from journalists and pundits alike, so in the wake of the Chelsea selfie, I went a-Googling.

What did I find?

Scorn, derision and admonishments by the bucketload?

Don’t be so daft.

I found nothing.

Nada.

Zilch.

So I looked on Twitter.

What did I find there? Nothing but a load of Arsenal fans asking where the outcry was over the Chelsea selfie.

For any Chelsea fans reading this, let’s be clear. This isn’t about you. Or your side. It’s about the media and their double standards when it comes to Arsenal. How they criticise Arsenal for things they praise others for (or, at the very least, just ignore).

It’s about things like this:

I’m glad there has been no criticism levelled at the Chelsea players. They deserve to celebrate what they did to Jose Mourinho and Manchester United.

These are professional footballers who work under immense pressure, who are only as good as their last result and, in the case of Arsenal, sometimes not even that.

They should be free to celebrate however they want.

As should the Arsenal players.
