Kylian Mbappe’s father, Wilfrid, has spoken out about how he feels Monaco are treating his son.

The 17-year-old winger has been linked with Arsenal since January, with claims recently suggesting that Manchester City had had a bid of £34.5m rejected.

Now, as reported by Sport Witness, L’Equipe – the original source of the claims – has linked PSG and Liverpool (as well as Arsenal), while the Italian media have also said that Juventus are interested.

According to Wilfrid Mbappe, Monaco aren’t keeping their promises and his son is unhappy with the lack of playing time he’s getting.

“This is also why I do not really understand the strategy,” he said.

“I do not see what they have to gain from this situation that creates more frustration. It does not make Kylian happy and it shows on his face during the week.

“Some will say he is only seventeen years old, needs to calm down, but it’s not impatience, because the club themselves said he would play. As he needs at his age, there will be a reflection ahead of the winter transfer window.”

Kylian has played just twice in Ligue 1 so far this season and although some of that is down to a head injury, the rest of the time he’s been sat on the bench.

The lad is only 17 and, after these comments from his father, I’m not entirely unconvinced that he’s looking for a way out of the club.
