Laurent Koscielny has applauded the way in which Arsenal are currently playing football by staying as a unit, not being selfish and combining all elements of our game in order to win.

The centreback believes that the Gunners have now combined key elements of our game – passing, defending, selflessness – and this is why we’re finally seeing such success on the pitch.

“We’ve learnt a lot over the past few years,” Koscielny said to Arsenal Player.

“This season we have more confidence and the team has played well, had some good results and sometimes when we did not have a good feeling in games it is harder but we won 1-0.

“We have a lot of quality players here, we have people with quality passing like Cazorla and Ozil and we are more like a group, a unit. Everyone fights for each other, no one is playing for themselves.”

Despite losing our opening game of the season to Liverpool, we remain unbeaten and although some of those victories have been far from convincing, it’s something to work upon.

It’s good to see our own players are feeling confident and know that something is gelling. Kos, for example, has a brilliant partnership with new defender, Shkodran Mustafi, and although we’re far from secure defensively, there’s a decent enough understanding there.

As Kos highlighted, having pass-masters like Mesut Ozil and Santi Cazorla dictating play from midfield is also a massive help.

Hopefully, we not only continue but get even better. That 3-2 Swansea result was not nearly as comfortable as we’d like…
