Alex Iwobi is reportedly set to be offered a new Arsenal deal after only just signing a new one in April.

The forward, who has well and truly broken into the first team this season, apparently earns £25,000 a week and while to most of us this sounds like a pretty tidy sum, as far as senior players go, this is practically peanuts. Alexis won’t even do a press up for £25,000…

Therefore, according to The Mirror, Arsenal are ready to give the 20-year-old a nice little pay rise, increasing his measly £25,000 to… well no one really knows but more than that. Apparently, most first team players earn around £65,000 so you’d imagine, given his youth, he’d be getting less than that.

Is it true? Stranger things have happened and he’s become one of the first names on the team sheet so you would imagine that we’re doing something behind the scenes to compensate for this.

We’ll see. However, with the way he’s playing right now, I highly doubt Gooners would have any qualms about offering him a bumper deal.
