The Italian press, well, specifically Tuttosport, thinks that Laurent Koscielny is worth less than Manchester United’s Eric Bertrand Bailly and even our own Shkodran Mustafi.

The outlet, as reported by 101 Great Goals, published their list of the 20 most valuable defenders in the world and Kos, who has been arguably one of the best centrebacks in the Premier League over the past few seasons, was left off said list.

In fact, Mustafi, who reportedly cost Arsenal €35m, is on there and the lowest priced defender included is Napoli’s Nikola Maksimović for €25m.

I’m pretty sure Koscielny, who has over 38 caps for France and has been linked with Barcelona and Bayern Munich, is worth more than €25m… wouldn’t you say?

The Italian publication clearly has some bias, considering seven of the 20 players on the list play in Serie A. However, even then, if they’ve recognised Mustafi, why not Kos who’s played at the top level for longer?

How strange.
