Olivier Giroud has revealed that he wasn’t fully fit following the Euros, which is why he struggled to get game time for Arsenal at the beginning of the season.

The striker joined Arsene Wenger during his pre-Ludogorets press conference and explained why he wasn’t playing following his return from Euro 2016.

Apparently, he wasn’t fully fit.

Many were under the impression that he’d simply been droped in favour of Alexis but after Wenger’s use of him got more and more tentative, it became apparent that something else was going on.

The big striker only made two Premier League appearances before he sustained a toe injury and was sidelined for a few weeks despite trying to play through it during our 3-0 win against Chelsea at the Emirates.

Oli’s now back in action, scoring a brace with two touches against Sunderland and it seems as if he’ll start against Ludogorets on Tuesday night.

It’s great to have the big guy back.
