Arsenal are expected to change almost their entire starting XI for the game against Reading on Tuesday night but should still field a team strong enough to defeat Jaap Stam’s men.

We would no doubt see a completely different starting XI had Santi Cazorla not got himself injured and Granit Xhaka been suspended. As they are, Mohamed Elneny and Francis Cqouelin might be in line to continue their sideways passing double-act against the Royals, but Ainsley Maitland-Niles should replace one of them as Carl Jenkinson comes back in for a senior start.

It’s all change in all the other positions with John Cross reporting that Olivier Giroud is in line for a start.. I’m not so sure, however, with Wenger saying Giroud would be ‘included’ in the squad.

He was clear on other players starting, but not so the Frenchman.

[UPDATE: I’m a moron and completely forgot about Akpom’s back injury when I did the graphic. Looks like we will see Giroud start after all]
