Despite Arsene Wenger claiming Aaron Ramsey isn’t fully fit yet, according to reports, he could feature against Reading in the EFL Cup.

The midfielder has been out with a hamstring injury since Arsenal’s opening game of the season against Liverpool. Since then, his return date has been pushed back again and again, despite him being spotted training alone with Olivier Giroud.

According to The Mirror, the Wales international has not only returned to full training but he’s set to make a surprise appearance against the Royals on Tuesday night.

I’d be surprised if he was even on the bench as the report claims but it’s hard to believe this story has come from absolutely nowhere.

When asked about Ramsey’s progress ahead of the cup match, Arsene Wenger said“I think Olivier will be included, but for Aaron it is too early although he is back in full training now.”

This seems pretty definitive and the boss isn’t likely to take another risk with Ramsey, given his history.

The Mirror also claims that Oli, who’s been out for weeks with a toe injury, will start on the bench.
