Wednesday was all about the reaction to Arsenal’s 1-1 draw away to PSG.

Following the result, we managed to find five things we learnt from the clash. We also managed to highlight three players in Olivier Giroud, David Ospina and Alexis Sanchez to look at closely and we examined Santi Cazorla and Shkodran Mustafi‘s passing masterclasses.

After the match, Arsene Wenger spoke about the importance of giving Ospina game time. He also discussed Giroud’s controversial second yellow card, which led to the striker being sent off seconds before the final whistle.

Speaking of the red card, Giroud seems to think it’s a combination of Verratti, who was also sent off, and Marquinhos’ fault. Looking back at the video, I think he could be right.

Laurent Koscielny also spoke after the draw, saying that although it was a good point, the team need to be awake from the first minute.

Granit Xhaka hailed the team’s ‘passionate’ performance, as did Ospina, while Alex Iwobi admitted that he wasn’t fazed by the opposition being he’s being put up against.

Mustafi also spoke about how hard it is to defend in modern football and Rio Ferdinand called Ospina a hero.

In injury news, Aaron Ramsey and Theo Walcott could be back for the Hull clash at the weekend.
