Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain would be brilliant at scoring goals if it wasn’t for those pesky goalposts.

The forward repeatedly hits the woodwork and you do have to wonder why it happens so often when the ball could go an inch in one direction and go in. Is his aim a little off? Is his lack of confidence making him hesitate? Or is he just really unlucky?

The Ox’s lack of goals is an issue. He’s a forward, after all, and last season only scored once in the Premier League in 22 appearances.

Of course, there are other aspects of the 23-year-old’s game that need to be worked on and him hitting the woodwork instead of scoring probably isn’t a priority to fix right now but watching the sheer amount of times it’s happened is massively frustrating.

Check out some of the times he’s almost scored absolute screamers below. I was cringing by the end of it.
